Return Eligibility

All handmade hides may be returned within 30 days from the original purchase date. Products must remain unused and in their original, unopened packaging to qualify for return. Once packaging is opened, we cannot verify the item's exposure to potential contaminants.


Hygiene & Safety Requirements

Returns must meet strict unused-condition standards due to critical health considerations. Cross-contamination between reptile habitats can spread parasites, bacteria, and diseases rapidly. A hide that enters one reptile's environment may harbor invisible pathogens on its surface. These organisms can survive on materials for extended periods, potentially infecting other animals. Unlike simple cleaning, making a used hide safe for resale would require complete sanitization and professional repackaging.


Restocking Fee

A 20% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund to cover inspection, repackaging, and restocking costs. For example, on a $150 item, the fee would be $30, resulting in a $120 refund. This fee applies to all eligible returns, except in cases of defective or damaged items. Consider it like reconditioning returned electronics—thorough testing and repackaging are essential before resale. For store credit options, no restocking fee applies if you choose credit instead of a cash refund. This helps us save on processing fees and keeps more value with you.


Defective or Damaged Items

Items arriving damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error require immediate attention. Contact us within 7 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange with no restocking fee. Provide photos and details via email at Support@mimichabitat.com or through our website contact form. We'll cover return shipping costs in these cases since the error was ours. Think of this protection like a manufacturer's warranty—we stand behind our craftsmanship.


Return Process

Email us at support@mimichabitat.com to initiate your return. Include your order number and reason for the return in your message. You'll receive a return authorization (RA) number and prepaid shipping label via email. Ship the unused item in its original packaging with the RA number clearly marked. Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 7-10 business days. We process returns after receiving and inspecting the item for compliance with our policy.


Non-Returnable Items

Custom-ordered or personalized hides cannot be returned unless defective upon arrival. Items showing any signs of use, odor, or contamination are ineligible for return. Products received after the 30-day window cannot be accepted regardless of condition.
